Trees is the best gift of god and is the source of life. It is essential for our living and we can never think of our life without it. But it is a matter of great regret that a large number of trees are being cut all the year long. Deforestation means cutting down trees in large number unscrupulously. It is the indiscriminate damage of forest as well as our lives. According to the ecologist for liveable environment 25% land of the total land area must have forest. But in our country the forest is 16% of the total land.
To meet the basic needs of food and housing, man is destroying forest without caring for the ecological balance. It leads to soil erosion and deprives us from fruit and timber. The nature is losing her green beauties. Trees produce oxygen and receive carbon-di-oxide. Deforestation's causes the increasing of carbon di oxide in the air. Thus our environment becomes contaminated. If this condition goes on the country will be changed into a desert.
For ecological imbalance the level of the sea water is rising high and the earth may be flooded by the sea water. It is great alarming matter. So we should realize the bad effects of deforestation and should educate the common people to abstain from cutting down trees. The government should take the essential steps to stop deforestation and to keep the country green and healthy. So every one should plant at least one tree every year.
