Gender discrimination
Gender discrimination means
the unequal treatment between the male and female child. It begins at birth in Bangladesh female child and woman are the worse suffers. Most
parents want to have male children. They suppose that a male child can
supplement in their family income. They can help them with domestic work in the
old age. The birth of female child is not regarded as a happy event. She is
born to an unwelcome world. The evils of dowry system are the causes of
degrading their position. Women constitute 50 percent of our total population.
The development of the country is not possible without women’s participation.
We should change our outlook towards the girl. An educated girl can stand on
her own feet. She also commands the respect of the people around her. Our
government is encouraging female education. Nowadays more job opportunities
have been created for the women.
