Gender discrimination means the unequal treatment between the male and female child. It begins at birth in Bangladesh female child and woman are the worse suffers. Most parents want to have male children. They suppose that a male child can supplement in their family income. They can help them with domestic work in the old age. The birth of female child is not regarded as a happy event. She is born to an unwelcome world. The evils of dowry system are the causes of degrading their position. Women constitute 50 percent of our total population. The development of the country is not possible without women’s participation. We should change our outlook towards the girl. An educated girl can stand on her own feet. She also commands the respect of the people around her. Our government is encouraging female education. Nowadays more job opportunities have been created for the women.
